Acetate Tow (PLA)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

With the awareness increasing in smokers about the health hazards, the modern smokers prefer filtered cigarettes made from Biodegradable Tow.<\/p>\n

A good Cigarette filter should reduce the amount of smoke, tar, and fine particles inhaled during the combustion of a cigarette. It should also keep the original aroma and taste as much as possible, along with reducing the harshness of the smoke and keep tobacco flakes out of the smoker’s mouth.<\/p>\n

Acetate tow is a natural product made from cellulose, but we have gone a step further by replacing it with PLA (Polylactic Acid) for making this tow which is made from 100% Biodegradable material and is replacement for SINGLE USE PLASTIC.<\/p>\n

PLA is produced totally from natural renewable such as corn, cassava and other crops as raw materials. It is environment friendly and biodegradable. This makes it the next generation of cigarette tow, especially with the limited supply of cellulose.<\/p>\n

Some common terms:
Denier filament is weight expressed in length unit defined as the weight in grams of 9000m of whatsoever linear material.
Denier is a direct metric system where lower numbers are thinner dimensions and higher numbers are thicker dimensions. A single filament with a 9000m length and with a weight of 1 gram is equal to denier 1.
Total denier is a weight in grams of acetate strip with a length of 9000 m. The acetate title is formed both by a denier filament and total denier. Example: an acetate title 2.7Y35000 has a denier per filament (or filament denier) of 2.7 and a total denier of 35000.
Cross section Y is the one used on the tobacco industry.
Crimp is the bending of a filament. Filaments are bent into groups and not singularly. Bending is necessary to give a certain consistency to a finished filter as well as to secure a good handling packing and storage.<\/p>\n

Important note for users of Triacetin Plasticiser: Unlike Cellulose Acetate Tow \/ Mono Acetate tow where triacetin works at room temperature, the triacetin plasticizer maybe needed to be pre heated between 60 to 80 Deg Centigrade at the application time (sprayed on tow) for this tow to get better bonding. We recommend the use of water based binders for filter making. All filter machines with brush type sprayer should use steel wheel rotary srayer in their machines.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n
